IC CONTACT POST FOR
cosmographia
(OOC: This is a rough outline of Darin's daily routine. Feel free to comment to this post with a time and location if you want to thread! This post is meant to be a catch-all contact post to thread out and expand on things that happen in game that might be too little for a log! Anything is game! Open to all! And feel free to have someone catch Darin someplace that isn't necessarily listed! He gets around, for sure!)
Sunrise to Early Morning
[It is around this time that you'll catch Darin out at the beach. He's doing his usual training regiment; jogging around the temple, sit ups, push-ups, liberally exercising whatever magical abilities he's awoken. He might be sparring with a clone projection, practicing summoning his weapon, or maybe just cooling down. Afterwards, he goes in search for metal, whether it's at the junkyard, or digging into the cliff face for whatever he can find!]
Morning to Afternoon
[Around this time, you'll see Darin around Waverly Bay. He might have his stall set up and selling his wares, or he might be running errands for the sake of the townspeople. Maybe he's doing some repairs around town, or lending a hand wherever it's needed. If it's slow, he's relaxing and getting some food, or maybe he's taking a nap under a tree! He's around though, that's for sure.]
Afternoon to Evening
[Around this time, Darin might be rustling up some dinner. Once the sun starts to dip, he'll head home for the day. He likes to take a more scenic route home so he can watch the sun set over the horizon. It's one of his favorite things to do. You might catch him along this route, or maybe catch him in his room in the Temple, where he's hard at work in his forge, working on parts and custom orders. He keeps his door open though, and when you look in, it'll be the storefront to his Smithy back in Kenmore. Don't be shy to come on in, the door's open for a reason!]
Evening to Night
[If it's a nice, clear evening, you'll find Darin out on the beach. Maybe he's training, maybe he's just wandering aimlessly, barefoot, through the surf. If it's a particularly clear night, you may find him climbing the cliff face. When he reaches the top, he'll watch the stars before making his way back down. If it's nice, he might just sleep out there! If it's raining, he'll be in the Temple, doing some sketching in his notebook.]

Mid-morning, day 97-ish
[To be honest, he was expecting something bigger than a stall, but there did look to be weapons there, and he did need them.]
Yo. You open?
no subject
Hey, sorry about that, friend! I was working on something and didn't hear you come up!
What can I do for you?
no subject
no subject
[He stands and wanders over to Minato's side of the stall and throws an easy arm around his shoulders.]
So, what are you in the market for? Or should I try and guess based on posture, height, weight, and frame?
no subject
[Though he was a pony while doing so, he's been training with polearms for some time now, on top of his usual routine for swords and the occasional lesson in ~style~ from a half-demon demon hunter-turned-dragon with a penchant for strawberry milkshakes.]
[He's also spent some time with large axes, his fists, guns, bows, and even whips at one point.]

[I apologize on behalf of my character.]
[... okay, but it's different this time! He's not cramming it into his face for once. It looks like he's on his way back from the market with some fresh ingredients for whatever Palutena's making tonight. A few carrots and squash can be seen sticking out of the top of a cloth bag.]
[(But no eggplants. Never eggplants. Let's not talk about it.)]
[He's just starting to take the walk back home to the temple when he sees a guy with distinctive blue hair further up the road.]
Hey! Darin!
[He waves with his free arm. Come on, Darin, can't you hear him? Are you going to turn and look at him, or is he going to have to run you down?]

Hey! Listen to me!
[He jogs to catch up, clutching the bag of groceries tightly. For a moment, he considers pelting him with one of the tomatoes...]
[Well, no. That would splatter all over that book Darin seems to like so much! And it would waste a perfectly good tomato. Be glad you have such a good friend, Darin -- he puts it back in the bag.]
[But when he catches up, he does jab Darin with a carrot to get his attention.]
Hello? Earth to Darin?
no subject
What's with the carrot sticking?? You could have just given my arm a good shake!
[He huffs in annoyance.]
Gah, dammit I lost my train of thought...! This missing photographic memory nonsense is getting on my nerves...
no subject
Missing memory? What, do you have amnesia or something?
You know, I've always heard of that happening in stories, but I never really thought I'd see it in real life.

day 102, early morning
So, two full hours before she's due to start her shift at the cafe, Sonico comes out of the temple in her work uniform, looking as bleary-eyed and slow to start as one might imagine at this hour, though she does perk up a little once she spots Darin... doing pushups? Huh.
She hesitates for a moment before she approaches. ]
Um... G--good morning, Altway-san... are you always up this early?
[ it's been a while since they last spoke so she's defaulting to last-name basis just to be on the safe side ]
Re: day 102, early morning
[After he counted out twenty push-ups, he kicks up into a handstand, then falls completely forward into a tumble, which he quickly bounces up from.]
[He hadn't responded right away, he didn't want to lose count after all, but once he was up, he greets Sonico with a quick heel-turn and a grin.]
Sonico, hey! Long time no, see!
[He steps over, brushing the sand from his torso and pants.]
I've been up for about an hour or so already. Nothing like greeting the dawn with some morning exercises, right?
no subject
Her smile gets a bit awkward, though it's more self-deprecation than anything else. ]
I--I'm not really sure if I'm the person to talk to about "greeting the dawn", but it's a nice change to be up and ready so early...
[ maybe "not being chronically late everywhere" is a power she'll eventually get ]
Is this what you do every morning?
no subject
...hey, speaking of, you look cute today! Where are you headed off to?
no subject
Eheh, it's not really anywhere exciting, I'm afraid. I've got a shift at the cafe later today and... well these are my work clothes. But I'm glad it's not too obvious that's what they are.
[ she really does like this outfit, it'd be a shame if it was fated to never be worn outside of work simply for looking too much like a waitressing uniform. ]

Afternoon!
She looks to be pinning up a sign on the rock. It doesn't really stick, but she's trying her hardest to make it stay with tape and maybe even some glue.
A special spot. He'd be bound to see it sometime, right?]
C'mon...
Re: Afternoon!
[That's when he saw Pearl fussing with...something. What was she doing anyway?]
...Pearl?
What the hell are you doing?
Re: Afternoon!
I was just... leaving this for you. There's going to be a little magic show on the beach and I wanted to invite you.
[And indeed, the flyer is about a magic show!]
Re: Afternoon!
...Really?
...That sounds really fun, actually! Who's performing?

eary afternoon after regaining invisibility.
But Kido fucking can't.
Something about all this gem bullshit has brought back a part of the little girl who texted her missing brother that she'd kill him for making her sister cry. The part of her that pointed out Kano's adoration for their sister without batting an eyelash. The part of her that she tried to lock away to become the leader, to become someone Ayano could be proud of. Who could take that role and protect her family.
It's brought back the part of Kido that's sixteen years old, harmless and orphaned. It's brought back the part of her that is a little fucking shit.
The concealment is just like it is at home. So long as no one's looking at her, she'll fade away, presence impossible to notice. No sight, no sound, no scent so long as she isn't touched.
And what does she do, first thing after realizing she has her power back? That she's herself again? She marches her ass down to Darin's stall. Leans on his table. Doesn't move for a very long minute, taking care to make sure of the fact he hasn't noticed her.
And lets the concealment drop when he's sure to see her appear from thin air. If he's afraid of ghosts this might be fun.]
How's business?
[Kido you're fucking terrible.]
no subject
[That's why Kido suddenly appearing scared the everloving crap out of him.]
[The second she appeared, he screamed. And not a manly scream. Oh no. No this was a screech. His voice cracked, his eyes went wide, and he stood straight up. He then did what any rationally terrified person would do. He took hold of his stall with both hands.]
[And he flipped it right at Kido.]
[Still screaming.]
no subject
But her fists clench at her sides.]
Moron, are you trying to kill me?!
no subject
[His notebook, his pencil, money...]
[His boots.]
[He just took off his boots and threw them at you.]
[Still screaming.]
